Game 4 between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will take place on Saturday, with the series shifting in a surprising direction. Minnesota now holds a 2-1 lead after a dominant Game 3 performance that exposed cracks in Denver’s offense. The Timberwolves turned the game into a defensive grind, limiting Denver to one of its lowest scoring outputs of the season while controlling the tempo from the opening minutes. With Nuggets vs Timberwolves Game 4 staying in Minneapolis, the pressure shifts squarely onto the Nuggets, who are trying to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole.

Key Storylines
- The Minnesota Timberwolves lead the series 2-1 after a 113-96 win in Game 3, fueled by their defense.
- Denver shot just 34% from the field in the last game, well below its season average, which they will try to rebound from in this game.
- Aaron Gordon remains questionable for Denver, impacting the team's depth and defense.
- Rudy Gobert received praise in Game 3 for his defense against Nikola Jokic down the stretch. He will need to lock in defensively again in this game if the Wolves are going to go up 3-1 heading back to Denver.
Key Players
Minnesota Timberwolves
- Anthony Edwards averages 28.8 points per game and remains the primary scorer. His ability to attack off the dribble drives Minnesota’s offense. Edwards only had 17 points and had a rough shooting night in Game 3, but Minnesota still managed to get the win in that game.
- Rudy Gobert contributes 11.5 rebounds per game and anchors the defense that disrupted Denver in Game 3.
- Ayo Dosunmu is coming off a 25-point performance off the bench in Game 3, providing scoring depth for the Wolves.
Denver Nuggets
- Nikola Jokic averages 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game, carrying the Denver Nuggets offense as a triple-double threat every night.
- Jamal Murray struggled in Game 3 with 16 points on inefficient shooting, but remains critical as a secondary scorer behind Jokic.
- Christian Braun scored just two points despite starting in Game 3. With Gordon banged up, Braun has to step up and provide more scoring than that.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Minnesota leads the current series 2-1 after winning Game 3 by 17 points.
- Denver is 4-3 against the Wolves between the regular season and postseason.
- Denver is 45-40 against the spread this year.
- Minnesota comes into this game at 38-47 against the spread.
Nuggets vs Timberwolves Game 4 Model Projection
- Score Projection: Timberwolves 118 - Nuggets 117
- Win Probability: Timberwolves 52%, Nuggets 48%
Minnesota’s Game 3 performance was not just a one-off hot shooting night. It was driven by defensive execution that forced Denver into uncomfortable possessions and contested looks. If that carries into Game 4, the Timberwolves have a clear path to another win, especially at home, where their energy level has been noticeably higher.
Denver still has the best player in the series in Nikola Jokic, and that alone keeps the game close. However, the supporting cast has yet to find a consistent rhythm, and injuries are limiting their lineup flexibility. Unless Jamal Murray rebounds with a strong scoring outing, the Nuggets may again struggle to reach their usual offensive ceiling. I'll take the Wolves to win this game and grab a 3-1 lead in the series.
