The Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat will face one another on Monday night in South Florida. Cleveland (7‑3) has enjoyed a strong start to the season, while Miami (6‑4) enters with home court advantage but with key injuries to overcome as well. Before tip-off from Kaseya Center, continue reading to find my Cavaliers vs Heat prediction below.
Pick: Heat +7.5
Confidence: ★★★☆☆
Cleveland has opened their season with a 7‑3 record. The Cavaliers are averaging 120.7 points per game. Star guard Donovan Mitchell is leading the way with 30.7 points per contest. They are solid on defense as well, thanks to the two-big lineup featuring both Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. That allows them to control the glass and limit opponents with their defense for the most part.
Miami is averaging 124.1 points per game while conceding 118.0 points per game. The Heat have notable injury concerns going into this game. Center Bam Adebayo has been ruled out for this contest with a toe injury. Tyler Herro is also out injured, while Terry Rozier is out battling legal issues. Max Strus remains out for the Cavaliers with a foot injury.
Cleveland swept Miami in the first round of the 2025 playoffs and enters this game with a psychological edge. The Heat will try to avenge that result with a win in this game despite being short-handed tonight.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland) | Over 26.5 points |
Norman Powell (Miami) | Over 22.5 points |
Evan Mobley (Cleveland) | Over 9.5 rebounds |
Score Projection: Cleveland 119 – Miami 114
Win Probability: Cleveland 62%, Miami 38%
Cleveland should be able to pick up a win on the road in this contest to improve to 8-3 on the season. But I think that this is going to be a closer game than anticipated. Miami will fight hard despite their current roster limitations. I'll take the points with Miami in this matchup, though I do think the Cavs will ultimately pick up the win.
