Both fighters enter this contest looking to recover from recent losses that slowed their climb up the rankings. Borralho sits at number 7 in the division, while de Ridder is ranked number 8, making this Caio Borralho vs Reinier de Ridder fight a major opportunity for the winner to remain in the title conversation.
Pick: Caio Borralho By Decision (+110) ATS PRO
Confidence: 4 out of 5
Fighter | Age | Reach | Stance | Record |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Caio Borralho | 33 | 75 inches | Southpaw | 17-2 |
Reinier de Ridder | 35 | 78 inches | Southpaw | 21-3 |
This co-main event pits two elite grapplers against each other, but their styles differ in key ways that could determine the outcome. Borralho has developed into one of the most methodical fighters in the middleweight division. The Brazilian black belt mixes steady pressure with disciplined striking and strong top control. Before his most recent defeat, he built a strong run in the UFC that included wins over several respected middleweights. His professional record now stands at 17-2, and he has shown the ability to maintain a consistent pace across long fights.
Borralho typically works behind measured footwork and a steady output of strikes. He averages nearly 4 significant strikes landed per minute and complements that offense with effective wrestling. His takedown defense has also been impressive, stopping roughly 76% of attempts during his UFC run. That defensive wrestling becomes especially important in a fight against a submission specialist like de Ridder.
Reinier de Ridder is one of the most accomplished grapplers to enter the UFC in recent years. The Dutch fighter owns 13 wins by submission and has built his reputation on suffocating ground control. Standing 6 feet 4 inches with a 79-inch reach, he often uses his length to close distance, secure clinch positions, and drag opponents into grappling exchanges where he thrives.
However, de Ridder’s most recent performance raised concerns for bettors. In his last fight, he suffered a difficult defeat against Brendan Allen after absorbing significant ground and pound shots. Prior to that loss, he had quickly climbed into contention with several finishes. Even so, durability and cardio have become key questions heading into this matchup.
This matchup looks close on paper because both fighters possess elite grappling credentials. However, the way they apply those skills creates an important difference. Borralho has a well-rounded approach that allows him to adjust between striking and wrestling without exposing himself to major risks. De Ridder relies heavily on getting the fight to the ground and advancing position quickly.
Expect Borralho to avoid risky exchanges, defend early submission attempts, and gradually outwork his opponent with cleaner striking and positional control. Over three rounds, that approach should translate into a clear decision victory.
Prediction: Caio Borralho wins by decision.
