On Saturday at UFC Vegas 114, featherweights Andre Fili and Jose Delgado will collide in a pivotal featherweight matchup on the UFC APEX card in Las Vegas. Fili, a 35‑year‑old UFC staple with years of experience and memorable bouts on his resume, takes on the explosive 27‑year‑old Delgado, a knockout artist looking to cement his place among the division’s up‑and‑comers. The betting markets currently lean strongly toward Delgado, and I'll break down the keys to this fight for both men below.
Statistic | Andre Fili | Jose Miguel Delgado |
|---|---|---|
Age | 35 | 27 |
Reach | 74 inches | 74 inches |
Stance | Orthodox | Switch |
Record | 25‑12 | 10‑2 |
Fili enters this matchup as one of the more experienced competitors in the UFC featherweight division. Since debuting in 2013, he has faced a wide range of high‑level opponents and developed a well‑rounded striking and grappling arsenal. Fili’s style is grounded in measured boxing and a willingness to engage in gritty exchanges, and he has shown durability even in defeat. Over his last several fights, he has mixed decision victories with tough losses to notable names. He did get a win in his last fight against Christian Rodriguez and will try to string two straight wins together for the first time since 2019.
Delgado stands out as an athletic striker with a high finishing rate early in his UFC tenure. His two most recent victories included a highlight‑reel knee knockout that has helped make him appointment viewing in the promotion. While he suffered a decision loss in his bout against a veteran opponent in Nathaniel Wood, the result did little to diminish the buzz surrounding his power and quickness. Delgado’s ability to open the fight with high‑impact strikes makes him a nightmare for fighters who start slow. That said, his relative lack of extended Octagon experience compared to Fili means he must maintain discipline and avoid costly mistakes over three rounds.
This is an important test for Delgado, as he took his first UFC loss in the defeat against Wood. A bounce-back performance would get him moving in the right direction again, while a loss would call into question whether the early hype surrounding Delgado is justified.
In predicting this fight, the central question is whether Fili’s veteran experience can neutralize Delgado’s aggression and explosiveness. Fili has proven capable of forcing decisions and grinding through three rounds, but he has been hurt or finished in recent losses when unable to establish his rhythm early. Delgado’s explosiveness and willingness to attack immediately play into his favor, especially in a shorter three‑round fight where early success can snowball.
My projection is that Delgado will pressure Fili early, land heavier shots in the first and second rounds, and either score a late stoppage or convincingly win the decision if the fight goes the distance. Fili can make this competitive by mixing in takedowns and clinch work to slow the pace, but the younger man’s power and speed give him a clear edge in contested striking exchanges.
Pick: Jose Miguel Delgado by decision or late stoppage ATS PRO
Confidence: 4 out of 5 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Delgado 68%, Fili 32% ATS PRO
