The New York Mets head west looking to stop a rough early-season slide as they face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night. Los Angeles has opened the year as one of the most productive offenses in baseball, while New York has struggled badly at the plate, entering this contest on a six-game losing streak and coming off a shutout loss in the series opener. With a strong pitching duel lined up for this contest, it will be interesting to see if New York can get its offense in gear in this Mets vs Dodgers matchup.

Mets vs Dodgers Model Projection
- Score Projection: New York Mets 2 - Los Angeles Dodgers 5
- Win Probability: New York Mets 36%, Los Angeles Dodgers 64%
The data points strongly favor Los Angeles in this spot. While Nolan McLean has shown promise, he now faces one of the most productive lineups in baseball, and the Mets bullpen remains a concern if he cannot go deep into the game. On the other side, Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been steady and reliable, consistently limiting damage and pitching into later innings.
The biggest difference in this game is offensive form. The Mets are struggling to generate any run production, ranking near the bottom of the league in key hitting metrics and failing to string together quality at-bats. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are thriving with a deep lineup that continues to produce power and timely hitting. Even if McLean performs well early, the Dodgers have enough depth to break through as the game progresses. I'll lay the runline with the Dodgers here, as they should take advantage of the offensive woes of the Mets once again.
