The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs will meet in Game 3 of their National League Division Series on Wednesday night. The Brewers come into this game with a 2-0 series lead and with three chances to close this series out. They will try to take advantage of the first of those chances on the road against their division rivals tonight. Before the action begins from Wrigley Field, continue reading to get my Brewers vs Cubs Game 3 prediction.
Quinn Priester has emerged as a reliable workhorse for Milwaukee, posting a 3.32 ERA in those outings. His road splits have been strong and Milwaukee is confident in his ability to deliver under postseason pressure. The Brewers’ manager confirmed Priester as the starter for Game 3 and he will try to close this series out.
Jameson Taillon carries the weight of the Cubs’ season on his shoulders. In his last six regular-season starts, he posted a 1.57 ERA. aillon must deliver at least a quality start to keep Chicago alive. Taillon has pitched four scoreless innings in the playoffs so far. He’s no stranger to facing the Brewers, having logged strong performances against them in the regular season.
This matchup hinges on whether Priester can stymie Chicago’s offense early and whether Taillon can match him. Given Milwaukee’s bullpen strength and the margin for error being entirely in Milwaukee's favor in this series, the Brewers have a slight pitching edge.
Player | Prop Type | Pick |
|---|---|---|
Jackson Chourio (MIL) | Total Bases | Over 1.5 |
Christian Yelich (MIL) | Total Bases | Over 1.5 |
Jameson Taillon (CHC) | Strikeouts | Under 4.5 |
Score Projection: Brewers 4 – Cubs 3
Win Probability: Brewers 55%, Cubs 45%
I am expecting Milwaukee to close out this series in a sweep by winning Game 3 on the road on Wednesday night. The Brewers' offense is firing on all cylinders, while they should also have the pitching advantage with Priester in this contest. Look for Milwaukee to sweep their way into the NLCS with a victory at Wrigley Field.
