The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their road trip in Houston on May 5 with a clear edge in both form and roster strength after an 8-3 win in the series opener. That result highlighted the gap between these clubs right now, with Los Angeles exhibiting depth at the plate and stability on the mound, while Houston continues to battle pitching issues. With Shohei Ohtani expected to take the ball and hit in the same game, the Dodgers are heavy favorites going into this Dodgers vs Astros matchup.

Dodgers vs Astros Model Projection
- Score Projection: Los Angeles Dodgers 6 - Houston Astros 3
- Win Probability: Los Angeles Dodgers 61%, Houston Astros 39%
The numbers and recent performance levels heading into this game clearly favor Los Angeles. Their offense is deeper and more consistent, while their pitching staff limits damage far better than Houston’s current group. Ohtani’s presence elevates the Dodgers further, giving the Dodgers a unique advantage few teams can match. Houston has capable hitters, but the gap in pitching and batting is difficult to ignore here. I'll go with the Dodgers to win this game and cover the runline on the road for the second night in a row in Houston.
