Tigers vs Reds Model Projection
- Score Projection: Tigers 5 - Reds 4
- Win Probability: Tigers 56%, Reds 44%
The key factor in this game comes down to the starting pitching edge. Valdez has been steady through his first several outings, limiting damage and keeping hitters off balance with strong command. Abbott, on the other hand, has struggled with efficiency and control, which is a concern against a Detroit lineup that has quietly produced consistent contact and run scoring. Even though Cincinnati has the better overall record and home-field advantage, the pitching gap is difficult to overlook. I'll take Detroit to win this game on the road behind a strong outing from Valdez.
