The Seattle Mariners will host the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Park. Seattle is red-hot coming into this game and is closing in on a division title. They will try to move closer to achieving that goal with a win in a game where they are heavily favored. Before first pitch from the Pacific Northwest, continue reading to get my Rockies vs Mariners prediction.
Luis Castillo takes the mound for Seattle with a 10-8 record and a 3.63 ERA over 173.1 innings. He has shown a solid strikeout rate with 152 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.23. Castillo is one of the main reasons that the Mariners are so heavily favored in this matchup given his long career of shutting down opposing hitters.
Colorado counters with Tanner Gordon in this game. Gordon is 6-7 with a 6.00 ERA and has struggled mightily this season. His WHIP is inflated at 1.46 and he has been very hittable both at Coors Field and on the road. Seattle’s offense should be able to exploit Gordon’s inconsistencies.
Player | Stat | Projection Range |
|---|---|---|
Cal Raleigh (SEA) | Home Runs | Over 0.5 |
Julio Rodríguez (SEA) | Total Bases | Over 1.5 |
Hunter Goodman (COL) | Home Runs | Over 0.5 |
Luis Castillo (SEA) | Strikeouts | Over 6.5 |
Score Projection: Rockies 2 – Mariners 7
Win Probability: Rockies 20%, Mariners 80%
I expect the Mariners to win in blowout fashion at home on Wednesday night. Their starting pitching edge is huge, the bullpen advantage lies clearly with the Mariners, and the Mariners are playing some of the best baseball in the league right now. I'll take the Mariners to win and cover the runline. Same Game Parlay enthusiasts should consider pairing the Mariners runline with Cal Raleigh to hit another home run.
