The San Francisco Giants will host the Colorado Rockies for their penultimate game of the 2025 season on Saturday. The Giants enter off a convincing 6‑3 victory in Game 1. The Rockies are stumbling toward the season’s end with just 43 wins on the year and will look to pull off an upset in this contest. Before the action begins in the Bay Area, continue reading to get my Rockies vs Giants prediction for Saturday's game.
Colorado's Kyle Freeland has endured a brutal season, compiling a 5.00 ERA and a 5‑16 record. In his starts as an underdog, Colorado has often faltered, and things aren't expected to go much better for him today. Justin Verlander, despite his 3‑11 record, has a solid 3.88 ERA and has better advanced metrics than his record suggests.
The Rockies have been historically poor at Oracle Park and away from home in general. Their 18–61 road record and large negative run differential underscore how difficult road success has been for them to achieve. The Giants are trying to finish their season at .500 and need to win their final two home dates to get to 81-81 on the year.
The Giants have won two straight games coming into this contest and will try to finish the regular season strong over the next couple of days. The Rockies have lost four games in a row and have been historically inept throughout this season.
Player Prop | Pick |
|---|---|
Heliot Ramos Home Runs | Over 0.5 |
Willy Adames Home Runs | Over 0.5 |
Justin Verlander Strikeouts | Over 5.5 |
Kyle Freeland Strikeouts | Under 4.5 |
Ezequiel Tovar Total Bases | Over 1.5 |
Score Projection: Rockies 2 – Giants 5
Win Probability: Rockies 25%, Giants 75%
This looks like a clear opportunity for San Francisco to extend its two-game winning streak and move to within a game of the .500 mark. Verlander’s steadiness and veteran savvy should be enough to keep Colorado’s offense in check, while Freeland has shown too many flaws this year to reliably contain the Giants. I will lay the runline with the Giants as they should pick up a fifth straight win over the Rockies in their season series.
