The Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers will face off on Saturday at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Both teams are eager to secure a victory given that there are playoff implications on both sides in this game. The Reds are currently in the final National League Wild Card position and will try to hold onto that spot here. Milwaukee is trying to lock up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Here, I analyze this matchup and give you my Reds vs Brewers prediction for Saturday.
Andrew Abbott (9-7, 2.80 ERA) takes the mound for the Reds. The left-hander has been a consistent performer this season, with a solid ERA and a high strikeout rate. In his last outing, Abbott delivered 4.2 scoreless innings against the Chicago Cubs and he will look for a similar performance tonight.
Robert Gasser (0-1, 6.00 ERA) will start this game for the Brewers. This will be Gasser's second start of the season and he will need to prove himself against a potent Reds lineup. In his previous appearance, he pitched three innings, allowing two earned runs on one hit against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Gavin Lux | Over 1.5 Total Bases |
Elly De La Cruz | Over 0.5 Home Runs |
Christian Yelich | Over 0.5 RBIs |
Spencer Steer | Over 0.5 Home Runs |
The Brewers have been the better team of these two throughout this season. But Cincinnati is fighting for its playoff life right now and they have the talent necessary to get a win in this spot. The Reds' starting pitching advantage should be the deciding factor here, as I'll take the Reds to win this game as a moneyline underdog to move to within one win or Mets loss of making the playoffs.
