COLLEGE FOOTBALL

UNLV enters with a better offensive profile, producing 24.1 points per game on 370.6 yards and 5.4 yards per play, while also allowing 23.7 points and 5.5 yards per play on defense. Northern Illinois has been much less efficient, averaging 15.1 points, 301.7 yards, and 4.95 yards per play, and its defense has been vulnerable at 38.6 points and 428.1 yards allowed per game. That gap in efficiency and scoring output points to a game in which UNLV should control possession and field position while NIU has trouble sustaining enough drives to push the scoring higher.
UNLV should control this game from the start and win comfortably, but the better value is on the total staying below the market number. The Rebels have the stronger offense, the Huskies have the weaker scoring profile, and NIU’s defense has already shown a tendency to give up big yardage and points. My projected final score is UNLV Rebels 32, Northern Illinois Huskies 15, which supports an Under result and a clear home win.
