The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3–7) will visit the Army Black Knights (5–4) on Saturday afternoon in a critical late-season game at Michie Stadium. Tulsa is coming off a rare win and will look for a second straight victory here. But Army is a win away from bowl eligibility and they will try to get the job done in this matchup from upstate New York. Before kickoff from West Point, you can find my Tulsa vs Army prediction right here.
Pick: Army -9.5
Confidence: ★★★★☆

Army’s Ground Game vs. Tulsa’s Run Defense: Army continues to utilize its trademark triple-option attack, ranking among the national leaders in rushing yards per game. Opponents struggle to contain it, and Tulsa’s run defense has been vulnerable throughout the season. That could be a recipe for more success on the ground for the Black Knights.
Tulsa Seeks Second Straight Win: After snapping a long losing streak with a 31–14 win over Oregon State, Tulsa will try to carry that energy into a tough road test here. Their rushing attack clicked in that game against the Beavers, giving Tulsa some hope going into their penultimate regular-season game.
Bowl Eligibility For Army: The Black Knights have one win to go to get to six wins and bowl eligibility for the season. They have three chances left to get that win, but Army won't want to waste any time in picking up that sixth win and getting the pressure off of themselves.
On Army’s side, the passing game is not much of a priority at all. Army quarterback Cale Hellums has rushed for over twice as many yards as he's thrown for this year. That is a product of Army running the option offense that they run and you can expect more running from Army in this contest. Tulsa is led by quarterback Baylor Hayes, who has 10 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for the season.
Score Projection: Army 34 – Tulsa 21
Win Probability: Army 70%, Tulsa 30%
Army should be able to secure its spot in this year's bowl season with a win in this game against Tulsa. The Black Knights will wear down the Tulsa defense over the course of four quarters, with Hellums running the option effectively to help Army impose its will throughout this contest. I'll lay the big number with Army at home here, as they will get to six wins and celebrate another year getting to a bowl game.
