No. 6 Oregon heads to Stillwater on Saturday to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys, looking for a cleaner performance after opening 2026 with a 34-27 win over Boise State. Oklahoma State enters at 0-1 after a 24-10 loss at Tulsa in Eric Morris' debut. The gap between the teams is reflected in the prediction market pricing, but Oregon still has something to prove after dropping four spots in the latest AP poll despite winning its opener.
Why Our Model Sees Value:

“Oregon's 34 points in their opener understated how productive their offense was. The Ducks generated 497 yards, averaged more than 7 yards per play, and produced 378 passing yards against Boise State. Oklahoma State now has to defend that attack after allowing Tulsa to create six plays longer than 20 yards and showing major problems with field position and turnovers in its opener.”
Oregon a Massive Favorite
Polymarket currently prices Oregon near 94% to win outright, while Oregon -23.5 is around 52%. The game total sits at 57.5, with the over around 51%. Those numbers imply that Oregon is expected to win big and score a lot of points along the way.
Oregon's Matchup Advantage
The value in Oregon over 40.5 comes from the matchup rather than simply Oregon's likelihood of winning. My projection puts the Ducks near 44 points, with a 58% chance of reaching at least 41. Oregon scored only 34 against Boise State, yet Dante Moore completed 28 of 37 passes for a career-high 378 yards and three touchdowns. Three Oregon completions gained at least 50 yards, while Jordon Davison added 90 rushing yards on only 12 carries. That combination gives Oregon several paths to produce six scoring drives.

Dante Moore enters Stillwater coming off one of the strongest passing performances of his college career. Jeremiah McClellan recorded 150 receiving yards, Dakorien Moore added 93, Evan Stewart had 72, and Jamari Johnson finished with 57. Oregon can attack Oklahoma State at several levels without relying on one receiver to carry the passing game.
Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker finished 29 of 49 for 241 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against Tulsa. He has passed for at least 200 yards in 16 consecutive games, so Oregon cannot treat the Cowboys as harmless through the air. Still, Oklahoma State's inability to produce explosive plays in Week 1 is a concern.
Oregon produced 497 yards against Boise State while holding the Broncos to 274. The Ducks were especially dangerous after halftime, generating 284 yards over the final 30 minutes. Their ability to combine Moore's vertical passing with Davison's running should stretch an Oklahoma State defense that cannot afford to give Oregon short fields.
Oklahoma State committed four turnovers against Tulsa and also failed on four of six fourth-down attempts. Those empty possessions helped Tulsa score 24 despite Oklahoma State finishing with 368 total yards and 27 first downs. Similar mistakes against Oregon could quickly turn into touchdowns rather than just field-position losses.
The Cowboys need Caleb Hawkins and their running game to keep Oregon's offense off the field. Hawkins gained 79 yards on 18 carries against Tulsa, while Oklahoma State possessed the ball for more than 31 minutes. Oregon, however, held Boise State to 93 rushing yards on 36 attempts, an average of only 2.6 yards per carry.
Oregon's explosive passing plays and Oklahoma State's ball security should determine whether this game is competitive or turns into another comfortable Ducks win. Oregon beat Oklahoma State 69-3 last season and gained 631 yards in that meeting. The Cowboys are substantially rebuilt under Morris, with 91 newcomers, but Week 1 showed that cohesion remains a work in progress.
Oregon may face a loud sold-out crowd in its first trip to Stillwater, but the Ducks have won 12 straight road games and are 18-2 away from home under Dan Lanning. My projected score is Oregon 44, Oklahoma State 17, making Oregon's team total over the strongest position.
