The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-2) will travel to Chestnut Hill to face the Boston College Eagles (1-7) at Alumni Stadium on Saturday. Notre Dame is ranked in the top 15 in the country and is riding a five-game winning streak, while Boston College has endured a tough season with minimal success. Before kickoff from Chestnut Hill, continue reading to get my Notre Dame vs Boston College prediction for Saturday's matchup.
Notre Dame is flying high following a 0-2 start. They are on a five-game win streak, while Boston College is stumbling through a season plagued by seven straight losses and only one win on the year. The Irish are in full stride and looking to keep winning to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive. Boston College is playing for pride and hoping to pull off an upset.
Boston College has just one win this season. That win came against Fordham of the FCS, making them 0-7 on the season against FBS competition. We will see if Boston College can find a way to get their first FBS win in the game where they are expected to perform worse than they have all season long.
CJ Carr has thrown for 1,758 yards with 14 touchdowns and only four interceptions so far this season for Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish have Jeremiyah Love at running back, who rushed for 228 yards in the recent win for the Irish against USC. Boston College’s quarterback situation is less stable. Grayson James has shown flashes, with five touchdowns in two starts recently. But he wasn't the team's first choice at quarterback and could struggle in his toughest test of the season.
Score Projection: Notre Dame 42 – Boston College 10
Win Probability: Notre Dame 88%, Boston College 12%
I just don't see a scenario in which Boston College can keep up with Notre Dame right now. The Fighting Irish can move the ball effectively both through the air and on the ground. As long as Notre Dame avoids a complete collapse offensively, we should see the Irish win this game by a massive margin. I'll lay the points with Notre Dame in this matchup, as they should get their sixth win in a row and keep their playoff hopes alive.
