Vanderbilt and Texas A&M will do battle in a Saturday afternoon matchup in the SEC. The Aggies come into this game on a three-game losing streak against elite competition in their conference, and they will try to end that losing streak against another very good basketball team. Here, I break down this contest in the SEC and you will find my Texas A&M vs Vanderbilt prediction below.
Pick: Vanderbilt -6.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 4/5
This game carries significant meaning for both teams. Vanderbilt has been one of the more consistent SEC performers and will look to fortify its standing with a key home win before the conference tournament. The Commodores have earned 11 victories at Memorial Gymnasium this season, showcasing a solid home court advantage that has frustrated plenty of opponents. Their offensive output sits near the top of the conference, and they average a healthy 17.1 assists per game, indicating good ball movement and scoring balance that can exploit defensive weaknesses.
Texas A&M has endured a rough patch with three straight SEC defeats, including an 86‑85 setback to Missouri, where they struggled to execute in crunch time and lost on a final play. That stretch has tamped some of the steam from an Aggies squad that entered the season with hopes of competing deeper in the league.
Injuries appear manageable as two Texas A&M seniors are listed as probable for this contest, though their game availability could impact rotation depth. Vanderbilt looks to be near full strength, which bolsters their chances of dictating tempo in front of their fans. Offensively, Vanderbilt scores an average close to 88.7 points per contest while limiting opponents to just under 73.8 points.
Score Projection: Vanderbilt 87 – Texas A&M 78 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Vanderbilt 72%, Texas A&M 28% ATS PRO
This SEC clash should play out in favor of the Commodores, who have the home-court advantage, better recent results, and a balanced offensive approach that should exploit the Aggies’ recent defensive problems. Texas A&M has shown it can score efficiently, but consistency issues and the unfavorable road environment make an upset less likely. I'm going to take the Commodores to bounce back after losing three of their last four games against a rough stretch of their SEC schedule.
