Key Storylines
- Tennessee enters the game with a 19-7 record, leaning heavily on defensive consistency and balanced scoring. They have won three games in a row and a win here would be a huge boost late in the regular season.
- Vanderbilt sits at 21-5 overall and has protected its home floor effectively this season. The Commodores lost their most recent game on the road against Missouri and they will try to bounce back in this matchup.
Key Players
Vanderbilt
- Tyler Tanner: The Commodores’ primary scoring option, averaging over 18 points per game. He stretches the floor with perimeter shooting and can create his own shot late in possessions. His ability to score at all three levels makes him the focal point of Vanderbilt’s offense. Tanner also leads the Commodores in assists per game.
- Devin McGlockton: A steady frontcourt presence who averages 6.9 rebounds per game, McGlockton is incredibly important to what the Commodores do on both ends of the floor.
Tennessee
- Nate Ament: Tennessee’s leading scorer at approximately 18 points per game. He carries much of the offensive load and is capable of heating up quickly from the perimeter.
- Jakobi Gillespie: The Volunteers leader in assists per game with 5.5 per contest. If Gillespie can limit his turnovers and create good looks for his teammates, the Vols could steal this game from their rivals.

Final Thoughts
This SEC rivalry game will be a competitive, high-intensity contest featuring two tournament-caliber teams. Tennessee’s defensive pressure and rebounding will keep them within reach, yet Vanderbilt’s offensive efficiency and home-court advantage should give the Commodores the upper hand in the end. I'll take the points with Tennessee here, even though I expect Vandy to come away with the victory.
