The Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal round brings another chapter in one of college basketball’s fiercest rivalries as Ohio State meets top-seeded Michigan in Chicago. Michigan enters the game with one of the best records in the country and already owns two wins against the Buckeyes this season. Ohio State arrives with confidence after a tight victory against Iowa that secured its spot in the quarterfinals. The Buckeyes have improved late in the season, but Michigan has dominated much of the conference schedule and continues to rank among the nation’s most efficient teams on both ends of the floor going into this huge Ohio State vs Michigan matchup.

Ohio State vs Michigan Pick & Model Projection
- Score Projection: Ohio State 70 - Michigan 88
- Pick: Michigan -13.5
- Confidence: 3 out of 5
- Win Probability: Ohio State 26%, Michigan 74%
Michigan enters this game with clear advantages across most statistical categories. The Wolverines score nearly 10 more points per game than Ohio State while also holding opponents to just over 69 points on average. Their dominance on the boards is another key factor. Michigan averages more than 40 rebounds per game, which allows them to generate extra possessions and control pace.
Ohio State has shown late-season improvement and Bruce Thornton gives the Buckeyes a legitimate scoring threat capable of keeping the game competitive for stretches. However, Michigan’s depth and scoring balance create difficult matchups across the lineup. With multiple players capable of reaching double figures and a strong rebounding margin, the Wolverines have consistently separated from opponents during the second half. I think they will do so again here and I'll lay the points with the Wolverines in this one.
