Key Storylines
- Indiana enters off a pair of losses, recently losing to Nebraska and Michigan State. But IU remains solid at home and competitive in Big Ten play with a 3‑3 conference record. Recent performances show they can put up points and defend well when locked in. Their offense averages 83.1 points per game while shooting nearly 48% from the field. Iowa’s defense allows just 62.7 points per outing, ranking among the better defenses nationally. It will be up to Indiana to find a way to score on the Hawkeyes' stingy defense.
- Iowa has struggled on the road this season, failing to win in its previous four away games combined with a three‑game losing streak overall. The Hawkeyes’ defense is strong, but their rhythm has been inconsistent away from home, especially against tougher Big Ten opponents. Their scoring comes at 78.7 points per game, and they shoot over 51% from the field. Senior guard Bennett Stirtz leads Iowa with nearly 18 points per game and also contributes with assists and steals, but the lack of road success could loom large for the Hawkeyes here.
- Both teams have quality scoring threats. Indiana’s Lamar Wilkerson is prolific, averaging around 20 points per game and ranking among team leaders in efficiency. For Iowa, Stirtz remains the focal point, while Tavion Banks provides additional scoring consistently. Depth and bench contributions will play a role, particularly in the second half, as both teams look to assert themselves down the stretch.

Final Thoughts
My expectation for this contest is for Indiana to get the win on their home floor. Iowa is 0-4 in true road games this season and their struggles away from home will continue here against an Indiana team that is 10-1 at Assembly Hall this year. I am laying the points with Indiana confidently in this spot.
