The Eastern Kentucky Colonels will face the North Alabama Lions in college basketball action on Sunday. Both teams are in the bottom five in the Atlantic Sun standings going into this matchup. With the bottom two teams in the standings missing the conference tournament, it's possible that both of these teams could miss out on postseason play if they don't start winning games. Before this matchup begins from Alabama, continue reading to find my Eastern Kentucky vs North Alabama prediction below.
Pick: Eastern Kentucky -4.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: ★★★★
Statistic | Eastern Kentucky | North Alabama |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 80.1 | 69.8 |
Points allowed per game | 80.6 | 78.3 |
Team Field Goal % | 43.52% | 43.71% |

The Colonels bring a higher scoring average into this game, nearing 80 points per outing, while North Alabama sits just under 70 points per game. Eastern Kentucky’s offense produces more assists, suggesting more cohesive ball movement, whereas North Alabama’s lower assist totals highlight a potential reliance on individual offensive creation. Defensively, both teams give up a similar number of points per game, though North Alabama’s slightly stronger defensive average could help limit Eastern Kentucky’s efficiency. Eastern Kentucky’s edge in free-throw percentage and rebounding also points to advantages in late-game situations and controlling second-chance opportunities.
In recent matchups, Eastern Kentucky has the upper hand, including an 88-80 win earlier this season. Against the spread this year, Eastern Kentucky holds a 9-14 mark, while North Alabama is 7-15 ATS. Totals have been mixed for both teams, though Eastern Kentucky has seen the over hit more frequently in recent games.
Score Projection: Eastern Kentucky 78 – North Alabama 71 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Eastern Kentucky 58%, North Alabama 42% ATS PRO
I think we are almost certainly going to see North Alabama fall short of the ASUN tournament this season. But Eastern Kentucky should take advantage of this golden opportunity to get a win to protect their spot in postseason play. I'm going to lay the points with Eastern Kentucky here, as they should get a third win in four games.
