The Minnesota Lynx go to Arlington on Thursday night when they visit the Dallas Wings at College Park Center. Both clubs enter this Lynx vs Wings game with a 1-1 record through the opening week of the WNBA season. Minnesota escaped Phoenix with an 88-84 victory after falling by one point to Atlanta earlier in the week, while Dallas followed an exciting 107-104 win over Indiana with a 77-72 loss against the Dream.
This game also places the spotlight on two rookie guards expected to shape the future of the league. Dallas selected Azzi Fudd with the top pick in the 2026 draft, while Minnesota landed Olivia Miles at No. 2 after a trade gave the Lynx an unexpected lottery selection despite a 34-10 campaign last year. Miles has looked more comfortable early in the season, but the Wings still have plenty of scoring firepower behind Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale.

Key Storylines
- The Minnesota Lynx have controlled the recent series between these teams, winning four consecutive meetings against Dallas.
- The Wings are playing their third straight game against a 2025 playoff club to begin the season.
- Olivia Miles and Paige Bueckers headline the battle of young guards from the last two draft classes, while Wings rookie Azzi Fudd is also trying to find her footing as a pro so soon after wrapping up her college career.
- Both teams have seen each of their first two games decided by five points or fewer, which could mean another close game is on the horizon here today.
Key Players
Dallas Wings
- Paige Bueckers gives the Dallas Wings an elite creator in the backcourt and she looks comfortable running the offense early in the second year of her career.
- Arike Ogunbowale remains the main scoring threat for the Wings. Her ability to create shots late in games keeps Dallas dangerous against any defense. Ogunbowale averaged 21 points per game in Dallas' first two games of the year.
- Alanna Smith adds interior defense and spacing on offense, though Dallas needs more efficiency from her after a rough shooting night against Atlanta.
Minnesota Lynx
- Olivia Miles has made an immediate impact for Minnesota. She is averaging 7.5 assists per game through two games as a pro. Her transition play and court vision fit perfectly alongside the Lynx veterans.
- Courtney Williams continues to stabilize the offense with her ball-handling and scoring ability. She also contributes on the glass, which is especially impressive at her size.
- Kayla McBride is more important than ever for the Lynx as a veteran scorer. With Napheesa Collier out for the early portion of the season, McBride needs to pick up the scoring slack. She is averaging 17 points per game early in the year.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Minnesota won all four meetings against Dallas last season.
- The Lynx are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these teams.
- The Lynx are 2-0 against the spread to start this season.
- Dallas enters this game with a 1-1 record against the spread.
Lynx vs Wings Model Projection
- Score Projection: Minnesota Lynx 89 - Dallas Wings 86
- Win Probability: Minnesota Lynx 54%, Dallas Wings 46%
Minnesota enters this game with the more stable lineup and a stronger recent track record in close situations. The Lynx have already shown they can execute late in games, and their veteran core should help against a Dallas team still learning how to blend several new pieces together. The Wings clearly have scoring upside, especially if Ogunbowale and Bueckers get rolling early, though their outside shooting inconsistency showed up against Atlanta. I'm going to take the points with the Lynx here, as this has one-possession game written all over it.
