The Los Angeles Sparks head to Nevada for a Western Conference meeting with the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday night. Las Vegas enters the game playing strong basketball early in the season, while Los Angeles is still searching for consistency after a 2-3 start. The Sparks picked up an impressive 97-88 road victory against Phoenix in their most recent outing, but they now face the defending champions. The Aces already handled Los Angeles comfortably earlier this month with a 105-78 victory, and oddsmakers have installed Las Vegas as a solid favorite once again. Here, I determine whether or not that is justified with my Sparks vs Aces prediction.

Key Players
Las Vegas Aces
- A’ja Wilson remains the centerpiece of the Aces offense and defense. She enters the game averaging 25.0 points per game and continues to dominate inside with elite scoring efficiency and rim protection.
- Jackie Young gives Las Vegas another high-level scoring option on the perimeter. She scored 20 points with 9 assists in the earlier meeting against Los Angeles and continues to push the pace effectively.
- Chelsea Gray controls the offense with 6.6 assists per game. Her ability to create quality looks keeps the Aces offense flowing in half-court sets.
- Chennedy Carter delivered a huge spark off the bench in the first matchup, scoring 22 points. Her quickness creates problems for opposing second units.
Los Angeles Sparks
- Kelsey Plum has carried the scoring load for Los Angeles, averaging 24.6 points per game. She dropped 27 points against the Aces earlier this season and remains the focal point of the Sparks offense.
- Nneka Ogwumike continues to provide reliable interior scoring and rebounding. She recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds in the previous game against Las Vegas.
- Dearica Hamby gives the Sparks versatility in the frontcourt. She contributes on the glass and in transition while averaging strong scoring numbers early in the season.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends

Sparks vs Aces Model Projection
- Score Projection: Los Angeles Sparks 84 - Las Vegas Aces 95
- Win Probability: Los Angeles Sparks 24%, Las Vegas Aces 76%
Las Vegas enters this game with clear advantages on both ends of the floor. The Aces are shooting more efficiently, defending at a higher level, and moving the ball far better than Los Angeles through the opening stretch of the season. Their depth also showed up in the first meeting, where the bench scoring gap played a major role in the final margin.
The Sparks have enough scoring talent to remain competitive for stretches, especially with Plum playing at an elite level. Still, Los Angeles has struggled defensively against top-tier offenses, and that becomes a major concern against Wilson and company. The Sparks also continue to allow too many easy transition opportunities after turnovers, something Las Vegas converts into points quickly. I'll go with the Aces to cover the spread in this contest from Vegas.
