Golden Nugget Sportsbook

Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta is a businessman through and through. We knew he would get involved in the legalized sports betting world with PASPA overturned and that is the case in the state of New Jersey. The Golden Nugget remains one of the most recognized names in Las Vegas, even as Fremont Street downtown has been labeled “Old Vegas”. Old just means that they know how to do it right.

Golden Nugget Sportsbook in New Jersey is doing it right. The sportsbook is seamlessly integrated within the Golden Nugget Live Online Casino page, so you have everything you could possibly want at your fingertips.

Like all of the other New Jersey-based sportsbooks, you have to be within the state to use them. You can access them outside of New Jersey and even sign up with an account, but you cannot bet until you are within the state borders. And it is oftentimes best to just sign up while you’re in New Jersey so that you don’t forfeit any sort of sign-up bonus or anything like that.

Let’s see what the Golden Nugget Sportsbook app is all about.

Props, Points, and Parlays

The betting options are quite numerous with the Golden Nugget app. Because the app is not separate from the casino, there are a ton of betting options, including the Live Dealer interface, where you can play Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, and Casino Hold ‘Em. Many of your favorite card games are available and there are nearly 600 slot machine options.

But, you’re here to look at the sports betting capabilities. All of the usual bet types are available within the Golden Nugget app, including a terrific live betting interface. There is one downside to the Golden Nugget Sportsbook. NBA games are not offered. Because of Fertitta’s interests with the Rockets, the state of New Jersey has restricted the Nugget from taking NBA wagers. That’s why the live casino is such a big thing. It more than makes up for the lack of NBA odds, or at least that’s the hope.

So, NBA bettors are sure to be disappointed, but Golden Nugget makes up for it in different ways with lots of NFL, college football, MLB, college basketball, and international offerings.

Furthermore, the prop catalog is one of the biggest among the New Jersey operators. Again, Golden Nugget clearly understands the need to make up for the lack of NBA with a world-class casino and a lot more prop betting options than many of its competitors.

Back to live betting real quickly because this is something that stands out in the industry. Golden Nugget offers live betting for golf. Not many are willing to do that, so you have to give GN credit for that.

Everything your heart desires, except for the NBA. That’s not so bad.

Mining for Gold

The process for finding a golden nugget out in the wild can be a challenging one. There are a lot of factors and a lot of stimuli. In some respects, the Golden Nugget website and app feel a lot like that. You have to appreciate the vast amount of casino games and betting options that are there, but it does make the site a little bit hard to navigate.

That’s not to say that the design is messy or confusing. It’s just to say that there is so much packed into this one website that it can catch newcomers off-guard. You may have to take some time to find what you are looking for, but once you learn your way around, you’ll find that this is one of the best sites in the business.

“Comprehensive” is a good world for it. The menus and the landing pages really do encompass what this is all about. Options.

If you go to the Nugget website and don’t have fun, that’s on you. This is set up to be a gambler’s playground, with everything from those live dealer table games to the countless sports betting lines.

SBTech, who also provides the technology for places like DraftKings and BetStars, put together the software platform for this site and it shows. Those developers are some of the best in the business and their apps do stand out above the rest.

Dollars and Doubloons

Funding an account is easy. Furthermore, because the Golden Nugget Casino and Sportsbook are all in one, you only need one bankroll for both. The online checking system is popular among players, but you can use PayPal, PayNearMe, credit/debit card, or transfer money right from your bank.

Of course, you can also trek down to the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and use cold, hard cash to fund your account.

There are a lot of withdrawal methods available. Many in New Jersey have had the most success with PayPal transactions because it is remarkably easy and the credit card processing system is a good way to deposit, so it makes sense for withdrawals also. You cannot withdraw to a credit or debit card, however, so keep that in mind.

Bonuses & Boosts

Odds boosts have been very popular as promotions in New Jersey. Golden Nugget offers those. Unfortunately, the $50 second-chance bet is one of the lowest in the industry, but you do get access to the casino for signing up and many casino promotions are fruitful endeavors. The casino match bonus is up to $100, for example. At the start of the football season, the Golden Nugget offered a 100% Instant Bonus for casino or sports deposits, so keep an eye out for specials before the start of the season.

The odds boosts and parlay boosts serve as replacements for the low initial deposit bonuses.

Also, once you have an account and are playing around, there are reload bonuses, which not every operator offers. There are also weekly missions, rewards within the Golden Rewards 24k Club, and various other offers.

Why Golden Nugget?

Think about a brick-and-mortar sportsbook. It is always set off of the gaming floor somewhere, usually in some dark corner of the property. Golden Nugget Sportsbook isn’t like that. It is right in the middle of all of the action. The extensive prop betting catalog and the live casino more than make up for the lack of NBA betting odds. This is a bright, colorful, inviting sportsbook app with easy use on Android, iOS, or right on your computer.

There are no downsides. Only upsides.
