Updated February 9, 2026
The Nordic combined normal hill event at the 2026 Winter Olympics is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium and the Fabio Canal Cross-Country Center. This hybrid challenge tests both explosive ski jumping ability and stamina on the cross-country course. With the 2025-26 World Cup season to look back on and futures markets beginning to crystallize, there is plenty to unpack ahead of this competition. This preview aims to break down the odds, contenders, storylines, and you will find my Nordic combined normal hill prediction.
Below are the current odds available for the Nordic Combined normal hill plus 10km individual event at the 2026 Winter Olympics:
One of the biggest narratives stories into the normal hill competition is the form of the Norwegian contingent. Jens Luraas Oftebro currently leads the futures markets, signaling that bettors expect Norway to deliver strong performances in both the ski jumping and cross-country segments. His consistent World Cup results this season have elevated his profile and justified his status as the betting favorite.
Vinzenz Geiger, ranked second on the futures list, has been reliably competitive across Nordic combined events this season. Germany’s program has deep strength, and Geiger’s ability to produce solid jumping scores paired with fast skiing makes him particularly dangerous if conditions are variable. There is also added intrigue around Stefan Rettenegger and Einar Luras Oftebro as rising talents capable of disrupting the established order.
Another developing storyline involves Johannes Lamparter, whose combination of world championship experience and tactical racing style positions him as a threat in both jump timing and the marathon 10km race. Bettors should monitor weather conditions and hill setup, as these can significantly influence results in the ski jumping phase, which in turn determines start gaps for the cross-country leg.
Pick: Jens Luraas Oftebro ATS PRO
Confidence: 4 out of 5
Oftebro’s current form has been among the most noticeable this season, suggesting that he can handle both set pieces of Nordic combined without significant weaknesses. His jumping results keep him near or at the top of standings early in competitions, affording him favorable starting positions for the cross-country race. Given that the normal hill plus 10km format places a premium on minimal time gaps after jumping, possessing a consistent aerial performance is a key advantage. That is the big reason I'm taking Oftebro as the favorite here.
