The men’s curling competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano‑Cortina is set to begin on Wednesday. With a field of ten nations battling through round‑robin play to earn one of four spots in the medal round, every match is important. Great Britain enters as the betting favorite for the gold medal, but Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, and other teams will try to grab the gold for themselves. Before this tournament begins, you will find my Olympic men's curling prediction below.
Below are the current gold medal odds for the men’s curling tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics, according to sportsbooks:
The men’s curling event will be contested at the Cortina Olympic Curling Stadium from February 11 to February 21, with each of the 10 qualified teams playing round‑robin matches to determine the semifinalists. The top four teams after round‑robin play will advance to the playoff round, culminating in bronze and gold medal games.
Great Britain is riding confidence from recent world titles and strong performances on the World Curling Tour. Canada, a traditional curling powerhouse with multiple prior Olympic golds, seeks to return to the top despite mixed results in recent major events. Switzerland boasts consistent play and a strong global ranking, while Sweden’s Niklas Edin is one of the sport’s legends and continues to lead his squad with experience and strategic acumen.
One narrative to watch is Great Britain’s determination to go a step further than their near‑miss in past Games. After securing silver in Beijing 2022 and capturing world titles in 2023 and 2025, Bruce Mouat and his squad are widely regarded as the club most in form heading into Milan Cortina. Their momentum in major championships and familiarity with high‑pressure matches could be critical come medal round play.
Pick: Sweden to win gold ATS PRO
Confidence: 3 out of 5
Overall, this year’s men’s curling competition in Milano‑Cortina promises to be exciting from start to finish. I think we could very well be in for a rematch of the gold medal match from the 2022 Olympics, where Sweden got the better of Great Britain for the gold. I am going to take Sweden to repeat here, as they are a nice value play at +800 when compared to the prices of Canada and Great Britain.
