Tottenham Hotspur will host Borussia Dortmund in UEFA Champions League action on Tuesday night in London. Both teams head into this clash neck-and-neck in the league phase table, sharing identical records with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat in group play. A win here would be huge for the qualification chances of either side and you will find my Tottenham vs Dortmund prediction right here.
Pick: | Dortmund ML (+135) ATS PRO |
Confidence: | 3/5 |
Tottenham’s current Champions League campaign has been steady, with three wins and just one loss so far. At home in this competition, they have won all three matches and kept clean sheets in those fixtures. However, their recent overall form is concerning. Spurs are without a win in five matches across all competitions, suffering defeats in their last three, including a Premier League loss at West Ham on Saturday.
Spurs' dip in confidence and form amplifies the pressure on manager Thomas Frank, whose position has come under significant scrutiny due to the club’s struggles. The squad is stretched thin with up to fifteen first-team players unavailable due to injuries, suspensions, and ineligibility, forcing fringe players into key roles and limiting tactical flexibility.
Borussia Dortmund arrive in London in much healthier condition and stronger momentum. They sit second in the Bundesliga and are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions. The German side has scored freely this season, with 19 goals in six Champions League games, one of the highest attacking outputs in the group stage. Their latest outings include a 3-2 victory over St. Pauli and a high-scoring 2-2 Champions League draw with Bodo/Glimt.
Both of these teams enter Tuesday's Champions League action just a point outside of the top eight in the league phase table. As a result, we are likely to see both teams aggressive and trying to secure three points, as one point will likely not be enough to help them climb the table and secure a bye in the first knockout round of the tournament.
I think we are going to see Borussia Dortmund win this match away from home against a struggling Spurs side. Tottenham has dropped five of its last eight games, getting just one win during that span. Making matters worse, Spurs have kept just two clean sheets over that eight-game span. That is concerning, as Dortmund is likely to keep the pressure on the North Londoners throughout this contest. I'll take Dortmund on the moneyline here, as they should take a huge leap toward grabbing a top eight spot in the league phase.
