Juventus host bottom-of-the-table Pisa at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday in a fixture that looks one-sided on paper, but carries a few complications bettors should understand before placing a stake. The Old Lady are in poor form and have gone four Serie A games without a win, yet they face a Pisa side with arguably the worst away record in the division. Pick your angle carefully and there is genuine value here.
Pick: Juventus to Win & Under 2.5 Goals
Confidence: 3 out of 5
Juventus have won just 1 of their last 5 matches across all competitions. That run includes a 0-2 home loss to Como, a 2-3 defeat at Inter, and a Champions League exit after a 2-5 thrashing by Galatasaray. Their most recent Serie A outing was a 3-3 draw at Roma after going 3-1 down, a comeback that showed character but also highlighted the vulnerability of a defense shipping 3 goals per game in recent outings. Despite all that, their home record remains strong: 9 wins, 5 draws, and 1 loss at the Allianz Stadium this season, conceding just 9 goals in 15 home matches.
Pisa are in a desperate state. Sitting 19th with 15 points from 26 matches, their campaign reads 1 win, 12 draws, and 13 losses. They have not won any of their 13 away games in Serie A this season, scoring just 1 goal in their last 3 league matches. A 1-0 home defeat to Bologna on March 2 extended their losing run to 3 consecutive games.
The reverse fixture on December 27 ended 2-0 to Juventus, with Pisa offering little going forward. That pattern is likely to repeat at the Allianz Stadium.
Juventus: Doubtful: Dusan Vlahovic, Arkadiusz Milik
Pisa: Questionable: Daniel Denoon, Raul Albiol OUT: Simone Scuffet, Adrian Semper, Isak Vural
Juventus are not firing on all cylinders, but they do not need to be to beat a Pisa side without an away win all season. Expect a narrow, controlled home win, the kind of result that flatters neither side but gets the job done. The under 2.5 goals combined with a Juventus win is the play.
