Utah Mammoth vs Chicago Blackhawks Prediction: Chicago Looks For Third Straight Win Over Utah

The Utah Mammoth travel to Chicago for a Monday night game against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center. Utah enters the game holding a stronger record and playoff hopes in the Western Conference, while Chicago is attempting to stay competitive during a rebuilding season. With the Mammoth listed as a road favorite and the total set around 6 goals, I help you make sense of the betting markets for this game with my Mammoth vs Blackhawks prediction below.
Pick: Utah Mammoth Moneyline ATS PRO
Confidence: 4 out of 5
The Mammoth have hovered around the middle of the Central Division standings and have played solid hockey during the past few weeks, winning several games against competitive opponents earlier in February. Their offensive output has remained steady, and they currently occupy one of the Western Conference Wild Card slots.
Chicago has had a more uneven stretch. The Blackhawks have dropped three straight games and four of their last five. While two of the three games during Chicago's losing streak were overtime losses, the Blackhawks need to find a way to close those games out if they want to get back into the win column on Monday night.
Utah likely turns to Karel Vejmelka for this game, who has been a key part of the team’s defensive stability. Vejmelka has a .900 save percentage this year and appears to be the better of the two starters in this matchup.
Chicago has dealt with uncertainty in net with Spencer Knight battling illness. That will likely mean Arvid Soderblom in net for them here, with Soderblom's 3.69 GAA for the season not exactly inspiring confidence in him delivering in this game.
Score Projection: Utah Mammoth 4 – Chicago Blackhawks 2 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Utah Mammoth 62%, Chicago Blackhawks 38% ATS PRO
Chicago has had the upper hand against Utah throughout this season. But the Mammoth are still my choice to get the win in this game. Utah has won three straight games and four of their last five, while the Blackhawks have done the opposite over their last five games. Expect Utah to finally break through against Chicago this year with a win in this matchup.
