The Seattle Kraken travel to face the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night in a game that pairs a fading road team with one of the hottest clubs in the Western Conference. With Vegas closing in on the top spot in the Pacific Division and Seattle out of playoff contention, Vegas is heavily favored on home ice. Before the puck drops in Sin City, continue reading to get my Kraken vs Golden Knights prediction on the ice.
Recent form
Seattle enters this game in poor form, going 3-6-1 over its last 10 games and losing four straight on the road. The Kraken have struggled to generate offense consistently, averaging just 2.4 goals per game in that span while allowing 3.8. Their recent losses have not been particularly competitive either, including multiple multi-goal defeats.
Vegas, on the other hand, is trending in the opposite direction. The Golden Knights are 6-1-3 in their last 10 games and are enjoying a strong stretch at home. They are averaging 3.7 goals per game during that run while allowing just 2.6. A dominant 6-2 win over Winnipeg in their most recent outing highlights their current scoring depth and confidence. The Knights can lock up the top spot in the Pacific Division with a win here, while a loss would open the door for the Edmonton Oilers to leapfrog them on Wednesday.
Goaltending
Seattle’s goaltending situation remains unsettled. Philipp Grubauer has posted a .907 save percentage recently, but the team continues to give up high-quality chances, reflected in their elevated goals-against numbers. Expected starter Niklas Kokko brings limited experience at this level, adding further uncertainty for the Kraken.
Vegas is expected to turn to Carter Hart, who has delivered solid results with a winning record and stable performances down the stretch. While his save percentage is not elite, the defensive structure in front of him has limited shot quality, making his job more manageable.
Key skaters
Seattle’s offense has leaned on Jordan Eberle, who leads the team with 55 points and 26 goals. Chandler Stephenson remains a key playmaker, but overall production has been inconsistent. Over the last 10 games, Kaapo Kakko leads the team with 10 points, though much of that has come in isolated bursts.
Vegas features one of the most productive stars in the game in Jack Eichel, who has 88 points and continues to drive play at an elite level. He has recorded 14 points in his last 10 games. Pavel Dorofeyev adds finishing ability with 37 goals, while Ivan Barbashev has also contributed heavily during this stretch.
The data points strongly favor Vegas in this spot. Their recent scoring output, defensive stability, and home performance all point to a team operating at a much higher level than Seattle. The Golden Knights generate more shots, convert at a higher rate on the power play, and suppress opposing chances far more effectively. Vegas also has more to play for in this spot, as they try to lock up the top spot in the Pacific. As a result, I'll lay the puckline with them against a Seattle team just trying to get their season finale over with.
