The Boston Bruins will host the Philadelphia Flyers in NHL action on Thursday night. This is the second game of a road back-to-back for the Flyers, who will have to overcome both tired legs and an opponent that is rounding into form of late. Before the opening face-off from TD Garden in Boston, I've made my Flyers vs Bruins prediction, which you can check out below.

Key Storylines
Recent form
- The Flyers have lost two straight games coming into this contest, including a game on Wednesday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Defense has been an issue for the Flyers during their current winning streak, as they have been outscored 9-3 over those two games.
- Boston has won three of its last four games and has earned at least a point in all four of those games. The Bruins are tied for third place in the Atlantic Division thanks to their recent run of form.
- This is the second game of a back-to-back for the Flyers, which could make life even tougher on them here.
Goaltending
- Flyers: Dan Vladar owns 16 wins with a 2.46 GAA and .905 save percentage and is set to play after missing some time recently.
- Bruins: Jeremy Swayman leads the Bruins with 21 wins, 2.86 GAA, and a .903 save percentage. Swayman hasn't been brilliant by any means this year, but he has helped the Bruins to turn things around after a slow start to the season.
Key skaters
- Philadelphia: Trevor Zegras leads the club with 46 points on 19 goals and 27 assists. Travis Konecny is responsible for a ton of chance creation with a team-high 28 assists. The question will be how effective Philly's weapons will be on the second game of a back-to-back.
- Boston: David Pastrnak sits on 69 points with 22 goals and 47 assists, powering a dangerous top line. Morgan Geekie’s finishing has been sensational, leading the Bruins with 30 goals, giving Boston a scoring threat that the Flyers will have to account for at all times.
Betting Trends & H2H
- This is the first of three meetings between the Flyers and Bruins scheduled for this season.
- The Flyers are 12-10-4 on the road going into Thursday night.
- Boston is 20-8-1 on home ice this season.
- The Bruins are tied with the Colorado Avalanche for the most home wins in the NHL this season so far.
Flyers vs Bruins Model Projection
Score Projection: Philadelphia 2 – Boston 4
Win Probability: Philadelphia 42%, Boston 58%
Final Thoughts
The Flyers are in a less than enviable scheduling spot going into this game. I expect the Bruins to take full advantage of that by winning and covering the puckline at home, where the Bruins have been dominant throughout the season.
