The New Jersey Devils and Vegas Golden Knights will meet in NHL action on Wednesday night. Vegas will try to get on top of the Pacific Division with a win tonight, while the Devils aim to rebound after some recent struggles. Here, I break down the keys to this game for both teams and will give you my Devils vs Golden Knights prediction on the ice.

The Devils have had an up‑and‑down stretch, winning two of their last five games and entering this game with a recent 4‑1 victory over Anaheim that was followed by a 2‑1 loss to Vancouver. Their performance has been inconsistent, with struggles on special teams and a lack of consistent scoring in recent outings. On the other side, the Golden Knights come in with a strong run, capturing nine of ten possible points across their last five games. They extended their point streak with a win over Columbus, and they enter this game a point back of the Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division standings.
Goaltending could be a pivotal factor here. Vegas has seen solid efforts from its current tandem, with Carter Hart securing recent wins and Akira Schmid drawn into the starting role. Schmid had a dominant performance against the Devils in their previous meeting this season, but Vegas is likely to go with Hart in this game. The Devils’ netminding has been a concern at times, with Jacob Markstrom likely to reside in the crease for this contest.
Vegas has dynamic offensive contributors such as Jack Eichel, leading the team in points with 41 on the season, with Mitch Marner consistently setting up scoring chances. New Jersey faces challenges due to injuries to key scorers like Jack Hughes. Jesper Bratt leads the Devils with 23 assists and will need support to solve the Golden Knights’ defense.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Jack Eichel (VGK) | Over 1.5 Points |
Mitch Marner (VGK) | Over 1.5 Points |
Score Projection: Devils 2 – Golden Knights 4
Win Probability: Devils 28%, Golden Knights 72%
I am going to lay the puckline with the Vegas Golden Knights in this matchup. New Jersey is dealing with injuries to key players and that should hold them back again in this contest. Expect Vegas' hot streak to continue and for the Knights to win this matchup by at least two goals in the desert.
