The Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights will meet Monday night in a key National Hockey League contest in the Western Conference. Both clubs enter this contest in playoff positions in their respective conferences, but only one of these teams will get a statement win to start off this week. Before the action begins in Vegas, continue reading to find out what I like in the betting markets for this matchup, including my Wild vs Golden Knights prediction.

The Wild have been playing well coming into this game, with an overtime victory over the Winnipeg Jets as their latest result, giving them eight wins in their last 10 contests. Kirill Kaprizov and Matthew Boldy have played significant roles, contributing offensively to keep Minnesota competitive. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights struggled through their recent schedule, including a 6‑5 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche in their last outing. The Knights have dropped four of their last five games and will try to turn things around on home ice tonight.
The goaltending in this matchup has been strong on both sides going into Monday night. All of the active goalies on both of these rosters have GAAs under 3.00 for the season and that could mean struggles generating scoring chances throughout this game for both teams. It could take a truly special performance for one goalie to outperform the other in this one.
The Wild’s offensive attack is paced by Kaprizov and Boldy, both of whom have scored consistently this season. Kaprizov leads Minnesota in goals and points, while Boldy’s two‑goal performance in the last game highlighted his importance to the Wild. For Vegas, Mitch Marner and Tomas Hertl have supplied playmaking and scoring, although the Golden Knights' offense has been somewhat inconsistent of late.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Kirill Kaprizov | Over 0.5 Goals |
Matthew Boldy | Over 0.5 Points |
Pavel Dorofeyev | Over 0.5 Goals |
Score Projection: Wild 4 – Golden Knights 3
Win Probability: Wild 52%, Golden Knights 48%
The Wild should have the upper hand in this contest on the road against the Golden Knights. Vegas has given up four or more goals in three of their last four games and that lack of consistent defense should cost them again here. I'll take the Wild on the moneyline despite the Knights having home-ice advantage in this game.
