The Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings will do battle on the ice on Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena. Both Detroit (7‑3‑0) and Los Angeles (5‑3‑3) come in off two straight victories and will try to continue their respective winning streaks with a win in this contest. Before the final game on the Thursday night NHL schedule begins, continue reading to find my Red Wings vs Kings prediction below.
Detroit have won its last two games. Both of those wins came against the St. Louis Blues, with the Red Wings sweeping a home-and-home series against the Blues. Over their last five games, they’ve averaged 3.8 goals for and 3.8 goals against. But they are 3-2-0 in those games and will look for a third win in a row on Thursday night.
Los Angeles comes in on a hot streak, going 4‑0‑1 in their past five games. They are averaging 3.2 goals for and allowing 2.4 goals against in that timeframe. The Kings are tied for the second-most points in the Pacific Division going into this game and they will try to keep their hot streak going in this contest.
John Gibson is the starting goaltender for the Red Wings. He is 4-2-0 on the season but is ranked 34th among NHL goaltenders with a 3.20 GAA. He has been bailed out at times by an explosive offense. LA's Darcy Kuemper is 3-2-2 in net this season but has been better with a 2.81 GAA.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Dylan Larkin | Over 1.5 points |
Adrian Kempe | Over 0.5 goals |
Lucas Raymond | Over 0.5 assists |
Score Projection: Los Angeles 4 – Detroit 3
Win Probability: Los Angeles 65%, Detroit 35%
My best bet for this matchup is for the game to go over 5.5 goals. Both of these teams have the potential to score in bunches, while the defending of the Red Wings is a major concern coming into this matchup. I'll take the over and hope for a fun and high-scoring game in Los Angeles between these two teams.
