The Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators will do battle on Saturday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Dallas enters this contest as the road favorite, while Nashville continues to struggle with consistency at home. Before the puck drops in the Music City, you can find my Stars vs Predators prediction below.
Pick: Dallas Stars Moneyline
Confidence: ★★★★☆
The Stars are currently 7‑4‑3 this season, ranking fourth in the Central Division. Nashville sits at 5‑7‑4 and has been on a slide, losing six of their last seven games. The Preds are in seventh place in the Central Division. Their offense has struggled, scoring 2.44 goals per game, while conceding 3.38 goals per game. The Stars have scored 2.86 goals per game and allowed 3.21 goals per contest. Both teams have negative goal differentials, but Dallas is playing better hockey for the most part.
Dallas' projected starter is Jake Oettinger. He is currently 5‑3‑2 with a 2.89 goals‐against average and an .899 save percentage. Nashville is likely to go with Juuse Saros, who stands at 5‑5‑3 with a 2.88 GAA and a .902 save percentage this season. While the numbers are similar, the protection in front of Oettinger appears stronger.
Mikko Rantanen leads the Stars with eight goals and 12 assists and Wyatt Johnston is close behind with nine goals and eight assists. Filip Forsberg leads the Preds with six goals and six assists and Ryan O’Reilly has six goals and four assists. However, Nashville is missing key players. Roman Josi is week‑to‑week with an upper‑body injury and forward Cole Smith is out 3‑6 weeks. Matt Duchene and Jamie Benn are out for Dallas.
Score Projection: Dallas Stars 3 – Predators 1
Win Probability: Dallas Stars 58%, Nashville Predators 42%
The Stars will look to press their advantage on a Predators team weakened by injuries and recent poor form. Dallas’ defense and goaltending appear slightly more reliable, and their key forwards are in better rhythm. I'll take Dallas to win this game on the moneyline, though I don't expect Nashville to go down without a fight either.
