The Colorado Avalanche will look to extend their points streak to start the 2025-26 NHL season as they face the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday night in Salt Lake City. The Avalanche have a 5-0-1 record and have been dominant early on. The Mammoth are off to a strong start of their own at 4-2-0. But only one of these teams can get the win on Tuesday night. Before the action begins in this contest, continue reading to get my Avalanche vs Mammoth prediction from Delta Center.
Market | Odds |
|---|---|
Moneyline | Colorado -140, Utah +120 |
Puckline | Colorado -1.5 (+170), Utah +1.5 (-215) |
Total | Over/Under 6.5 |
The Colorado Avalanche enter this game with a 5-0-1 record. Their most recent victory was a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins, where star center Nathan MacKinnon scored twice. Colorado has given up one goal in each of their last three games and will try to be great on defense again tonight. The Utah Mammoth also beat the Bruins in their last game. Dylan Guenther netted the game-winning goal in the third period and the Mammoth will look to get a fourth straight win here.
Scott Wedgewood has been a steady presence in goal for Colorado. He has a 5-0-1 record with a .938 save percentage and a 1.48 GAA. He has been hard for opposing attackers to put pucks past so far this season and will try to continue that tonight. Mammoth netminder Karel Vejmelka has a 3-1-0 record with a .912 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA. He and Wedgewood are both in the top 10 in the NHL in GAA.
Nathan MacKinnon leads the Avalanche with 10 points. He has a team-best six goals and four assists so far this year. Martin Necas has been a playmaking force with six assists. Utah's Nick Schmaltz has nine points for the season, including six assists to lead the team in that department.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Nathan MacKinnon | Anytime Goal Scorer |
Clayton Keller | Over 0.5 Assists |
Nick Schmaltz | Over 2.5 Shots on Goal |
Score Projection: Colorado 3 – Utah 1
Win Probability: Colorado 70%, Utah 30%
These teams played a tight game in their first meeting of the regular season and I expect the same thing in this game. I'll take the Avs to win another low-scoring contest between these Western Conference foes on Tuesday night in Utah, with MacKinnon making winning plays for his team.
