The Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins will meet in NHL action on Saturday afternoon. Colorado has earned a point in every game they have played this season and will try to continue that streak against a Bruins team that is struggling mightily of late. Before the puck drops at TD Garden, continue reading to get my Avalanche vs Bruins prediction for Saturday's game.
Colorado enters this game at 5-0-3 overall and unbeaten in regulation. They’ve averaged 3.5 goals per game while allowing just about 2.1 goals per game. In their most recent meeting with the Bruins, they beat Boston 4-1. Boston sits at 3-6-0 and is mired in a six-game losing streak. They’ve allowed nearly 4.8 goals per game over their last five losses and are simply not getting stops or consistent offense right now.
The Avalanche’s goaltending has been steady, helping underpin that strong defensive showing. Scott Wedgewood is 5-0-2 on the season and will try to get the job done for his team again here. Boston’s netminding has been inconsistent and the defense in front of Jeremy Swayman has been reeling recently. Swayman will need to step up for his team to snap its losing streak.
For Colorado, Nathan MacKinnon leads the charge. He recorded two goals in the previous meeting against Boston and remains a dynamic driver of their offense. On the Boston side, David Pastrnak continues to deliver offensively with 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) through 9 games. But even his efforts haven’t been enough to offset the team’s larger issues.
Player | Stat to Target | Pick |
|---|---|---|
Nathan MacKinnon | Points | Over 0.5 |
David Pastrnak | Goals | Over 0.5 |
Cale Makar | Assists | Over 0.5 |
Score Projection: Colorado 4 – Boston 2
Win Probability: Colorado 68% | Boston 32%
The Avalanche are playing hockey at a high level and the Boston Bruins are not right now. The Bruins should lose their seventh game ain a row here against an Avs team that dominated them in the first meeting of the season between these two teams.
