The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday in an Atlantic Division matchup. The Leafs enter as slight favorites and will try to take advantage of the Sabres' struggles on the road this season. Here, I break down this matchup between division opponents and give you my Sabres vs Maple Leafs prediction on the ice.
Buffalo has steadied things somewhat after a shaky start. The Sabres opened the season 0-3, but in their last four home games have gone 4-0-0 and picked up a 5-3 win over Toronto just last night. Their home form has helped them get back to the .500 mark for the season. The Maple Leafs are 3-4-1 so far and coming off a 5-3 defeat to Buffalo. But the Leafs are at home here and will try to get back into the win column.
Toronto's Anthony Stolarz and Buffalo's Alex Lyon have played in the majority of games for their respective teams. But we could see different goalies in this matchup, as both teams played last night and could change things up to keep their netminders as fresh as possible.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
William Nylander | Over 0.5 assists |
Auston Matthews | Over 0.5 goals |
Jack Quinn | Over 0.5 points |
Score Projection: Buffalo 3 – Toronto 4
Win Probability: Buffalo 46%, Toronto 54%
The Sabres won the first game of this home-and-home series on Friday night. But I think that we will see Toronto get back on track with a win over Buffalo tonight. The Sabres are winless away from home this season and should struggle on the road again here. I'll go with Toronto to avoid a fourth straight loss and their second in as many nights here.
