The Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks will meet in Week 15 of the NFL season on Sunday in a game that is generating massive interest for a number of reasons. Seattle enters with a 10‑3 record and are firmly in the playoff hunt, while the Colts sit at 8‑5 and are set to start a quarterback who was retired from professional football just this time last week. Before kickoff from the Pacific Northwest, continue reading to get my Colts vs Seahawks prediction for this fascinating matchup.

The biggest storyline in this game is unquestionably the quarterback situation for Indianapolis. After starter Daniel Jones suffered a torn Achilles and is out for the season, and backup Anthony Richardson remains on injured reserve, the Colts made the remarkable decision to sign 44‑year‑old Philip Rivers out of retirement to start in Seattle. Rivers last played in the NFL during the 2020 season and will be returning after a nearly five‑year absence. His age and time away from competitive play create uncertainty about his effectiveness against a stout Seahawks defense.
Meanwhile, Seattle’s leadership has been highlighted this week with quarterback Sam Darnold named a team captain, along with safety Julian Love and fullback/tight end Brady Russell. Darnold has been one of the better performers in the league this season, posting a strong quarterback rating and guiding Seattle to a 10‑3 record. The Seahawks are competing for a top seed in the NFC and have the best point differential in the NFL this year at +161. The Seahawks have won three straight games and will try to extend that streak on their home turf here.
Philip Rivers’ return is one of the most unusual quarterback storylines this season. Rivers possesses an all‑time great resume. But rust, age, and the fact that he has not played in years make this a monumental ask for him to lead a competitive passing attack against a defense that excels at forcing turnovers and applying pressure. The Colts will likely run the ball early and often in this contest to try to ease Rivers back into things.
Sam Darnold has been effective for the Seahawks and has twice as many touchdowns as interceptions so far this year. Darnold’s ability to protect the football and make smart reads will be key to this game, especially with weapons around him like Jaxon Smith-Njigba there to make explosive plays.
Score Projection: Seattle 24 – Indianapolis 14
Win Probability: Seattle 84%, Indianapolis 16%
The Seahawks should take advantage of the bizarre quarterback situation in Seattle, winning this game handily. But my best bet for this game is the under, as the Seahawks' defense should make life tough on Rivers in his return, while the Seattle offense will be able to run the ball and chew clock without much of a threat coming from the opposition.
