The Cleveland Browns travel to Soldier Field on Sunday to face the Chicago Bears in a key inter-conference matchup in the NFL. The Bears enter this Week 15 contest with aspirations of keeping pace in the NFC playoff hunt, while the Browns are aiming to continue developing their rookie quarterback down the stretch. Chicago comes in as a clear favorite, while Cleveland will try to pull off an important upset on the road. Before kickoff from Chicago, continue reading to get my Browns vs Bears prediction for Sunday afternoon.
Chicago enters this contest with a 9-4 record and is in the thick of an NFC North race without much margin for error. A loss last weekend to the Packers put Chicago in second place in the division. While they are in a great position to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team, the Bears are desperate for a win here to improve their chances of hosting a first-round playoff game.
Cleveland is 3-10 and has struggled consistently throughout the season on offense. Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders flashed elite potential in Week 14 against the Titans, throwing for 364 yards and three touchdowns while adding another on the ground. But the Browns lost that game at home, giving Tennessee just its second win of the season and continuing what has been a miserable season for the Browns.
Caleb Williams leads the Bears from under center with 2,908 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions this season. His dual-threat ability has helped Chicago improve dramatically over the course of this season. His mobility could be key in cold conditions and with Cleveland's pass rush being the threat that it is.
For Cleveland, Sanders’ growth is the main objective for the remainder of the regular season. A porous offensive line could make Sanders’ progression challenging against a Bears defense that thrives on creating pressure and forcing mistakes from opposing quarterbacks.
Score Projection: Bears 24 – Browns 13
Win Probability: Bears 75%, Browns 25%
I'm expecting a low-scoring game between the Bears and Browns on Sunday. The pass rush of the Browns should make life tougher than usual on Caleb Williams, while the struggles of the Cleveland offense should continue. I'll take the under as my best bet for this contest, with the expectation that the Bears will win a low-scoring game to help their chances in the NFC North race and in the NFC Wild Card race.
