The upcoming matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns this Sunday carries major implications in the AFC North. The Ravens are coming in on a winning streak with their starting quarterback on the field again, while the Browns are mired in frustration offensively. Let’s break down this game, and make our Ravens vs Browns prediction for this Sunday afternoon matchup in Northeast Ohio.
The Ravens have hit their stride at a time when the stakes are high during the season. After a rocky start, they are riding a three‑game win streak and appear to have found stability at quarterback with Lamar Jackson healthy again. The Browns (2‑7) continue to struggle generating offense, ranking near the bottom of the league in yards and points. Their defense remains one of the better units in the league. But that hasn't mattered without the ability to put points on the board.
Baltimore enters this week a game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North. Depending on how the Steelers perform earlier on Sunday, the Ravens will either be playing to tie things up in the division or to keep pace with Pittsburgh. Either way, this is a huge game for Jackson and the Ravens.
Lamar Jackson is fully back and operating at high efficiency for the Ravens. He is completing 70.1% of his passes with 15 touchdowns and just one interception so far this season. He also adds unpredictability with his rushing ability. He will need his mobility against a very good Cleveland pass rush.
The Browns turn to rookie Dillon Gabriel at quarterback, who has struggled mightily in this offense. With Cleveland scoring fewer than 17 points per game (16.2 ppg), the Cleveland quarterback situation remains a liability. Gabriel’s inability to consistently move the chains puts added pressure on the Browns’ defense and special teams to keep them in contention.
Score Projection: Baltimore Ravens 21 – Cleveland Browns 17
Win Probability: Ravens 78% / Browns 22%
The Ravens should get a win to move to .500 for the season here. But I'm not convinced that they will win by any sort of significant margin. Cleveland's defense is much better at home than it's been on the road. I expect the Browns to figure out a way to keep this game close and to cover the spread in what should be an interesting game between AFC North rivals.
