The Western Conference playoff race remains tight as the San Antonio Spurs travel to face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday afternoon. Both teams enter this game in excellent form, stacking wins and showcasing elite offensive efficiency. San Antonio has surged behind its young superstar, while Denver continues to rely on one of the most complete offensive players in the league. With both sides scoring at a high level and recent meetings producing fireworks, this Spurs vs Nuggets contest is expected to be the best in the NBA on Saturday.
San Antonio enters this game riding an 11-game winning streak, with recent dominant victories highlighting their growth into a legitimate contender. The Spurs have been one of the hottest teams in the league, averaging well over 120 points per game during that stretch. Their defense has also tightened, allowing just over 103 points per game across their last five outings.
Denver, however, has been just as impressive. The Nuggets have won eight of their last 10 games and continue to dominate at home during their current seven-game winning streak. Their offense remains one of the most efficient in basketball, averaging over 121 points per game this season while shooting nearly 50% from the field. Denver’s ability to control tempo and execute in half-court sets makes them especially tough to beat in their home building.
Denver Nuggets
San Antonio Spurs
Stat | Spurs | Nuggets |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 119.6 | 121.4 |
Points allowed per game | 111.1 | 116.6 |
Team Field Goal % | 48% | 49% |
Rebounds per game | 47.0 | 43.6 |
Assists per game | 28.0 | 28.8 |
Both teams enter this contest in elite form, but the Spurs are operating on a completely different level right now. I'll lay the 2.5 points with the Spurs here, as they should grab a 12th straight win, even on the road against another elite opponent. The Spurs' depth advantage should be the difference here, as they have that extra gear beyond just what their stars can provide them with.
