The Sacramento Kings will face the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center on Tuesday night. The Thunder are off to a 4-0 start to this year and will try to stay undefeated despite being on the second night of a back-to-back here. Before these Western Conference teams face off in the NBA, continue reading to get my Kings vs Thunder prediction.
The Thunder arrive undefeated at 4-0 and are coming off a win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. They will try to turn around quickly and get another win here despite being at a rest disadvantage against the Kings. Sacramento is off to a 1-2 start to the season. They lost their last game at home on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers despite the Lakers being without Luka Doncic or LeBron James for that game.
Injury and availability issues loom large for both teams. Oklahoma City has been without Alex Caruso, Jalen Williams, and Kenrich Williams and could be without them for this game as well. It will also be interesting to see if the Thunder choose to rest anyone else on the second game of a back-to-back here. Keegan Murray and Nique Clifford are on the injury report for the Kings.
The Thunder have been dominating the glass so far this season. They have averaged just over 50 rebounds per game so far this season. The size of Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein has made it difficult for opponents to compete with them in the rebounding department. That could continue here against a Kings team that has Domantas Sabonis and not much else in the frontcourt.
Player | Prop to Consider |
|---|---|
Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander (OKC) | Over 32.5 points |
Chet Holmgren (OKC) | Over 8.5 rebounds (he’s averaging around 9.7 rpg recently) |
Zach LaVine (SAC) | Over 21.5 points |
Score Projection: Sacramento Kings 107 – Oklahoma City Thunder 115
Win Probability: Sacramento Kings 25%, Oklahoma City Thunder 75%
The Thunder should be able to get a win at home tonight to improve to 5-0 on the season. But I think that the Kings are capable of covering the spread on the road in this game. OKC could see a dip in their typical level of performance on the second game of a back-to-back. While that might not be enough for the Kings to steal this game on the road, I will take the points with Sacramento in this Western Conference contest.
