The Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs will meet in Game 2 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series on Tuesday. The Spurs rolled to a 111-98 win behind a historic playoff debut from Victor Wembanyama, and now they look to press that advantage in Game 2 on their home floor. Portland, meanwhile, showed flashes through Deni Avdija and Scoot Henderson but struggled with shooting consistency and depth. Before Trail Blazers vs Spurs Game 2 tips off, I've got you covered with my prediction for the game.

Key Storylines
- San Antonio leads the series 1-0 after a dominant Game 1 performance.
- Victor Wembanyama opened his playoff career with 35 points and elite efficiency. It doesn't look like Portland has anyone who can slow him down.
- Portland shot just 10/38 from three-point range in Game 1. If they want to compete in this contest, they will need to shoot better from the outside.
Key Players
San Antonio Spurs
- Victor Wembanyama: Averaging 25.0 points and 11.5 rebounds this season, he exploded for 35 points in Game 1 while stretching the floor and protecting the rim. His presence changes both ends of the court and creates matchup problems that Portland has yet to solve.
- De’Aaron Fox: Added 17 points in Game 1 and brings speed and playmaking that pushes tempo. His ability to collapse the defense opens perimeter looks for teammates.
- Devin Vassell: Contributed 15 points in the opener and remains a key perimeter scorer who benefits from defensive attention on Wembanyama.
Portland Trail Blazers
- Deni Avdija: Led Portland with 30 points and 10 rebounds in Game 1 and averages 24.2 points per game this season. He remains the focal point of the offense for Portland.
- Scoot Henderson: Scored 18 points in Game 1 and provided needed shot creation, especially when the offense stalled from others.
- Jrue Holiday: A veteran presence who struggled in Game 1 but is critical for his leadership and perimeter defense.

Head-to-Head & Betting Trends

Trail Blazers vs Spurs Game 2 Model Projection
- Score Projection: Spurs 122 - Trail Blazers 109
- Win Probability: Spurs 78%, Trail Blazers 22%
San Antonio enters Game 2 with clear advantages across nearly every category. They are deeper, more efficient offensively, and significantly stronger defensively. Wembanyama’s ability to stretch the defense while anchoring the paint forces Portland into difficult shots, which was evident in Game 1 as the Blazers struggled from beyond the arc. My projections make this a 13-point win for the Spurs, so I will lay the points with the hosts as they should take a 2-0 series lead before hitting the road for Game 3 in Portland.
