The Portland Trail Blazers head into their Thursday night matchup with the Chicago Bulls at the United Center with the hopes of turning around an inconsistent 2025-26 campaign. Both teams have struggled to find consistency this season, with Portland slightly ahead on record but Chicago experiencing a long losing streak that has dropped them well below .500 in the Eastern Conference standings. Here, I take a closer look at this inter-conference matchup on the court and bring you my Trail Blazers vs Bulls prediction.

Key Storylines
- Chicago has endured a 10-game losing streak in recent weeks. The Bulls’ recent defensive struggles have seen them give up 120 points per game for the year.
- Portland sits marginally better in standings and has shown moments of offensive cohesion, especially when Deni Avdija and Donovan Clingan are producing at a high level. Avdija could return from injury here, which would be a huge boost for Portland.
Key Players
Chicago Bulls:
- Josh Giddey – Provides clutch scoring, rebounding, and playmaking with about 17.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per contest. His all-around game is critical to Chicago’s offense generating looks and keeping possessions alive.
- Matas Buzelis – Emerging scoring threat with around 15.3 points per game, adding scoring depth and athleticism to Chicago’s wings. His efficiency and spacing help provide balance when starters struggle.
Portland Trail Blazers:
- Deni Avdija – Team’s focal point on offense with roughly 24.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists a night. His ability to create shots, distribute, and rebound makes him the Blazers’ most versatile contributor. Portland would love to see him back on the floor here.
- Donovan Clingan – A dominant interior presence, averaging 11.5 rebounds and double-digit points. His rebounding and rim protection anchor Portland’s frontcourt, especially on defensive possessions.
- Toumani Camara – Provides scoring with about 13.0 points per game and adds hustle on both ends. His three-point shooting helps spread the floor for Portland’s offense.

Trail Blazers vs Bulls Model Projection
Score Projection: Portland 118 – Chicago 113 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Portland 55%, Chicago 45% ATS PRO
Final Thoughts
Both teams enter with comparable scoring stats, but Portland appears to hold marginal advantages on defense and in rebounding. Chicago’s recent slump and defensive inefficiencies should make it tough for them to keep up, even with efficient scoring from Buzelis and Giddey. I'll take the Trail Blazers to win and cover the spread on the road in this one, as they should hand Chicago an 11th straight defeat.
