The Boston Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series in the Eastern Conference. Boston controlled Game 1 from start to finish, cruising to a 123-91 win behind an efficient offense and a suffocating defense. Philadelphia struggled to generate quality looks and shot under 40% from the field, while Boston dictated the pace and capitalized on Philly's turnovers. As 76ers vs Celtics Game 2 approaches, bettors are faced with the question of whether the underdog can respond or if Boston will tighten its grip on the series.

- Jayson Tatum made his return to postseason basketball in Game 1 and looked perfectly healthy, scoring 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for Boston.
Key Players
Boston Celtics
- Jaylen Brown: Averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, Brown is the primary scoring engine and sets the tone offensively. He had 26 points in Game 1 for the Celtics.
- Jayson Tatum: Coming off a near triple-double in Game 1 with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists, he impacts every phase of the game for Boston.
- Derrick White: Adds 16.5 points and 5.4 assists per game, providing steady playmaking and perimeter defense.
- Neemias Queta: Anchors the interior with 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game while contributing efficient scoring at the rim.
Philadelphia 76ers
- Tyrese Maxey: Leads the team with 28.3 points and 6.6 assists per game, carrying the offense in Embiid’s absence. He led the Sixers with 21 points in Game 1, but needs to do more if Philly is going to have a chance here.
- Paul George: Adds scoring support with 17 points in Game 1 and brings veteran experience to the postseason.
- Andre Drummond: Key presence on the glass, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game and helping control second-chance opportunities. He has to protect the paint more effectively against the slashers of the Celtics.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Boston won Game 1 by 32 points and is now 3-2 against the Sixers this season.
- Celtics ATS record: 50-33 this season, best in the NBA.
- 76ers ATS record: 44-40 this season.
76ers vs Celtics Game 2 Model Projection
- Score Projection: 76ers 104 - Celtics 119
- Win Probability: 76ers 18%, Celtics 82%
Boston’s edge in this series is showing up across every measurable category. They rebound better, defend at a higher level, and shoot more efficiently from deep. The absence of Joel Embiid continues to loom large, leaving Philadelphia without a reliable interior scoring option or defensive anchor. That issue was exposed in Game 1, where Boston dominated the paint and transition opportunities.
Expect a more competitive showing from the 76ers early, but Boston’s depth and shot-making should help them create separation again. I project a 15-point win for the Celtics in Game 2, so I will lay the points with the Celtics in what should be a second straight lopsided game between these teams at TD Garden.
