Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Orlando Magic @ Cleveland Cavaliers
- Date & Time: Monday, January 26, 2026, 7:00 PM ET
- Venue: Rocket Arena, Cleveland, Ohio
- Broadcast: Peacock
Key Storylines
- Cleveland form: The Cavs have captured 6 of their last 8 games and 10 of their last 14, buoyed by Donovan Mitchell’s late-game shot-making and improved spacing around Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. The Cavs are without Darius Garland at the point guard spot due to a toe injury, but the other members of Cleveland's nucleus are active at this point in time.
- Orlando shorthanded on the wing: Franz Wagner has been managing a left ankle issue and is out of action after returning briefly for the Magic during their European swing. Orlando has relied heavily on Banchero and Desmond Bane to create half-court offense, but the absence of Wagner is a huge deal for Orlando.
- Star power check: Donovan Mitchell enters as one of the league’s most productive guards at 29.1 points per game with 5.8 assists. Banchero leads Orlando at 21.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game. These are two of the brightest young stars in the NBA and they will make this contest appointment viewing.
- Scheduling and travel: This is the second meeting between these teams in 3 days. The Cavs defeated the Magic in Orlando in the last outing for both of these squads. Orlando will try to avenge that loss here, but will have their hands full in doing so on the road.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Past meetings: Cleveland just handled Orlando 119-105 in Orlando, led by 27 second-half points from Mitchell. That was the only prior meeting between these teams this season.
- Cleveland is an NBA-worst 17-30 against the spread this season.
- Orlando is 17-27 against the spread going into Monday night.
- The under is 25-22 in games involving the Cavs this year.
- Orlando is 22-22 in the over/under market this season.

Final Thoughts
I am going to lay the points with the Cleveland Cavaliers in this matchup on Monday night. The Cavs come into this contest with a 15-11 on their home floor, while the Magic have a losing record on the road. The absence of Franz Wagner should greatly impact the ability of the Magic to generate offense around Banchero. Expect Cleveland to improve to 2-0 against the Magic on the season with a convincing victory in Northeast Ohio.
