The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday night to face the Mavericks in a Western Conference matchup. Oklahoma City enters as one of the most dominant squads in the league, led by MVP‑caliber guard Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander and All‑Star big man Chet Holmgren, while Dallas is fighting to gain some positive momentum after a tough season that’s seen them lose 12 of their last 14 contests and drop seven straight at home. Here, I break this game down and make my Thunder vs Mavericks prediction.

Key Players
Oklahoma City Thunder
- Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander: The Thunder’s leader is averaging around 31.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game this season, pacing Oklahoma City’s high‑octane offense. His scoring and playmaking make him a primary factor in OKC’s ability to dominate possessions and control the pace.
- Chet Holmgren: The versatile big man contributes roughly 17.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, anchoring the interior for the Thunder while providing shot blocking and secondary scoring.
- Isaiah Joe: As Oklahoma City’s top three‑point shooter, he averages about 2.5 made triples per game, helping space the floor for Gilgeous‑Alexander and Holmgren.
Dallas Mavericks
- Naji Marshall: Dallas’ leading scorer this season at about 15.4 points per game, Marshall brings energy and secondary scoring, though his production has been inconsistent amid injuries to other stars.
- Brandon Williams: Filling a larger offensive role, Williams provides roughly 13.5 points per game and assists the Mavericks when Dallas needs secondary creation.
- Max Christie: Christie chips in with scoring and spacing, averaging approximately 12.9 points while contributing to perimeter shooting.

Score Projection: Oklahoma City Thunder 124 – Dallas Mavericks 107 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Oklahoma City 88%, Dallas 12% ATS PRO
Final Thoughts
The Thunder’s combination of elite scoring, depth, and recent form makes them a sensible choice to not only win but cover the spread in this matchup. Dallas’ prolonged struggles, injuries, and defensive lapses leave them vulnerable against high‑powered offenses like Oklahoma City’s. I expect the Thunder to control this game throughout, exploit mismatches against a short-handed opponent, and pull away in the second half to cover the number.
