The New York Knicks head to Charlotte on March 26 for a late-season Eastern Conference clash with postseason implications. New York has separated itself from most of the East in the standings with a strong record and efficient offense, while Charlotte continues to hover around the play-in tournament but has shown signs of growth with an explosive perimeter attack. With both teams in postseason contention, this Knicks vs Hornets matchup is the most important of the night in the NBA.
New York enters this game with one of the more efficient offenses in the league, averaging just over 117 points per game while shooting around 48% from the field. The Knicks have leaned on disciplined half-court execution and strong rebounding to control games. They have won seven straight coming into this matchup and will try to move into a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference with a win here.
Charlotte, meanwhile, has been competitive thanks to its three-point shooting and improved playmaking, ranking among the better teams in made threes and outside-shooting efficiency. The growth of players like LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller has been very important to their success this year and it will be interesting to see how they perform against a veteran group in a big game. Charlotte has won four straight games entering this one.

Category | Knicks | Hornets |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 117.2 | 116.4 |
Points allowed per game | 110.5 | 111.8 |
Team Field Goal % | 48% | 46% |
Rebounds per game | 46.3 | 46.3 |
Assists per game | 27.5 | 26.5 |
New York holds a slight edge due to its efficiency on both ends and the presence of a reliable closer in Brunson. The Knicks’ ability to limit mistakes and control the glass should give them extra possessions in a game where margins are thin.
Charlotte has enough shooting to stay competitive, especially if Ball and Miller find rhythm from deep. Still, New York’s consistency and defensive edge make it the safer side. Expect a competitive game that stays within a couple of possessions, but I think the Knicks should close it out late win at even money.
