Game 2 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets is set for Monday night after Denver’s 116-105 win in the series opener. Minnesota showed flashes early, building a double-digit lead before fading late, while Denver leaned on its experience and execution to take control of the series. With the Nuggets holding a 1-0 edge and playing at home again, the Wolves will try to steal a game before the series heads to Minnesota. Here is my Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 2 prediction before tip-off.

Key Storylines
- Denver leads the series 1-0 after a strong second half in Game 1, with Nikola Jokic posting his first triple-double of these playoffs.
- Minnesota struggled offensively late despite a fast start, as they didn't get enough from Julius Randle.
- Anthony Edwards’ health remains a key factor after showing signs of discomfort in the series opener.
- Denver continues to dominate at home with a 28-13 regular-season record, followed by their win in Game 1.
Key Players
Denver Nuggets
- Nikola Jokic anchors everything with 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game, and he controlled Game 1 with a triple-double effort.
- Jamal Murray adds scoring and shot creation for Denver, coming off a 30-point performance in the opener.
- Aaron Gordon provides interior defense and physical scoring, especially important against Minnesota’s frontcourt.
Minnesota Timberwolves
- Anthony Edwards leads the team with 28.8 points per game, but his effectiveness depends on his mobility and ability to attack the rim.
- Rudy Gobert averages 11.5 rebounds and protects the paint, though Denver’s spacing and the all-around game of Jokic can limit his impact.
- Julius Randle contributes 5.0 assists per game but must improve his efficiency after a difficult Game 1 shooting performance.

Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Denver won Game 1 by a 116-105 score and is now 4-1 against the Nuggets so far this year.
- Nuggets are 45-38 against the spread this season.
- Timberwolves are 36-47 against the spread this season entering Game 2.
Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 2 Model Projection
- Score Projection: Timberwolves 115 - Nuggets 123
- Win Probability: Timberwolves 38%, Nuggets 62%
Game 1 revealed a familiar pattern in this matchup. Minnesota can compete in stretches with its athleticism and scoring, but sustaining that level for 48 minutes against Denver is another matter. The Nuggets are comfortable slowing the pace, running offense through Jokic, and picking apart defensive lapses. Their efficiency, especially at home, gives them a steady edge. I'll go with the Nuggets to cover the number in this contest, as they should head to Minnesota with a 2-0 series lead.
