The Miami Heat and Orlando Magic will meet in the first game of their NBA seasons on Wednesday night in Orlando. The Magic come into this season with high expectations after making the playoffs a season ago and improving their roster in the offseason. They will try to start their season on the right foot against a Heat team that will try to stay competitive despite early injuries. Before tip-off in Orlando, continue reading to get my Heat vs Magic prediction.
Odds | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
Orlando Magic | −8.5 | −360 | Over 214.5 |
Miami Heat | +8.5 | +280 | Under 214.5 |
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Bam Adebayo (Heat) | Over 9.5 rebounds |
Franz Wagner (Magic) | Over 5.5 rebounds |
Nikola Jovic (Heat) | Over 8.5 points |
Score Projection: Orlando Magic 110 – Miami Heat 100
Win Probability: Orlando Magic 72%, Miami Heat 28%
The Orlando Magic should have a substantial advantage over the Miami Heat in this game. The lack of Tyler Herro on the perimeter for Miami should really hurt their ability to generate points from the outside. That and the stout defense of the Magic will combine to make life hard on everyone but Adebayo for the Heat. I will take the Magic to win and cover the spread on their home floor to open this season.
